Awana is an international, non-denominational, Bible-centered youth organization providing weekly clubs and programs for three-year-olds through high schoolers. The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of the phrase "Approved workmen are not ashamed" (2 Timothy 2:15). The Awana Club is broken down into four classes: cubbies, sparks, truth & training, 24/7 youth.
Awana runs during the normal school year. The club is now on summer break. The 2008-2009 Awana year will begin on Aug. 27, 2008.
Puggles - New!
New for this Awana year, Puggles provides a basic Godly foundation with simple Bible stories and crafts for one- and two-year-old toddlers.
Cubbies
The Awana club for preschoolers ages three through five is built on two premises: Young children can and should receive spiritual training. Home is the primary place for spiritual training.
In the course of two years, pre-schoolers will learn approximately 55 memory verses and key basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible.
Sparks
For boys and girls in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. The aim of the curriculum is to take youngsters a step deeper into God's Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
In three years, a child will learn and review 68 verses, many of which cover salvation and key Christian doctrine.
Truth & Training (T-n-T)
For kids in 3rd through 6th grade. Truth & Training is an evangelistic and discipleship program that teaches Scripture memory, basic Bible truths and real-life application.
In the course of four years, a child will learn and review about 310 verses.
24/7 Journey & Trek
The Junior High and Senior High Awana clubs have been consolidated into Awana Team Ministries at One Accord.
24/7 Ministries ministers to teens where they are in life, and encourages them to grow into the next level:
- Come See - geared for teens marginally interested in Christianity. It presents Biblical answers to real-life issues.
- Come Follow - intended for teens that want to do the right thing but aren't always motivated to act on that desire.
- Come Serve - aimed to highly motivated Christian teens that want to impact their world for Christ.
